You must consider a candle as part of a system and not individual components. Every wax-fragrance-dye-wick combination must be considered as a whole and not as an average. What this means is test, test, test to achieve the ultimate candle for every fragrance you make.

SOY WAX

We have made thousands of candles with soy wax. We love the naturalness of soy wax and the benefits that come with it. As with any natural product, the soybean crop can change from season to season which can lend to a slight change in the wax. Soy wax does not act like a paraffin wax when making candles. You can make a great looking candle with soy but it will have features that are not present when using paraffin (i.e. - rough tops after burning, etc.) This is just part of soy's naturalness. It makes working with soy fun and challenging at the same time. Soy wax is best suited for hand made production of candles so that its uniqueness can be accommodated by your TLC (tender loving care). We consider natural waxes our specialty. Please feel free to contact us to discuss issues, concerns, problems, etc. that you may experience with natural waxes. Research efforts surrounding soy and its uses have resulted in many consumer goods such as body and skin care, hair products, cleaning products, crayons, pens and, of course, candle wax.

Good things about soy!

Lots of people don't show sensitivity to soy candles as with paraffin candles. Many people complain of headaches after burning a paraffin candle and thereby are denied the beautiful fragrances on the market today. We were able to convince many people, who told us that this happens to them, to try a soy candle and let us know how it worked. They came back extremely happy and bought more. Paraffin is a petroleum (oil refined) by-product. Soy wax is water soluble and can be cleaned up easily with soap and water. Just don't pour it down a drain - it is wax and can clog pipes.

Soy is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic - it is derived from a vegetable.

Soy candles can have an excellent scent throw!

PALM WAX

Palm Wax is an environmentally friendly product as it comes from sustainable and renewable resources - the fruit of palm trees. It burns clean, throws well and colors beautifully. Palm Wax has a crystalline structure that is part of its natural beauty. It produces beautiful design candles all on its own.

PARAFFIN WAX

AS STATED BY IGI - Paraffin Wax is a natural product derived from the molecular components of decayed vegetable and animal material. Paraffin wax consists of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons with the following general properties.

  • Non-reactive
